From Ghana to Burkina Faso – Acoustic Africa
Gus Arrowsmith and Sophie Lythgoe travelled through Ghana and Burkina Faso with a battered acoustic guitar and a cheap camcorder. These beautiful acoustic songs are there offspring from Africa, accompanied by Sophie’s comments:
This was filmed on May 5th on the Yepei Queen going down Lake Volta in Ghana amongst many yams! Excuse the dirty lens and cheeky mic.
This was filmed on June 2nd in the very hot Kayes in Mali. It is Influenced by the Malian Blues, and Gus’s guitar is tuned Malian style too.
We filmed this in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, one hot sleepless night.
This was filmed in Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso right after the military mutiny on June the 5th.
This last one, ‘A Foal’s Waltz’, we recorded in Ghana, Accra at The Rising Phoenix.
Take it easy x
